A collaboration of AIA Central PA and CDA, the Lecture Series celebrates the perspectives and accomplishments of world-renowned architects practicing at a wide range of scales. Funding for the series is sponsorship-driven with all surplus funds donated to architectural scholarships each year.
AIA LECTURE SERIES
All of our presenters lead small to mid-sized design-driven practices and teach at the most prestigious architectural schools in the world. And although each presenter brings something unique to the discussion, they all communicate in an unapologetically modern architectural language as an expression of the 21st century.
Attendees repeatedly say they find the work and insight into each firm’s process to be inspiring and motivating. We could speak at length about each architect, but some of the most memorable presentations include: Marlon Blackwell’s conviction to design at the highest level regardless of location or budget; Snohetta’s power to maintain craft and sophisticated detailing, even on very large projects; Shigeru Ban’s commitment to not only architecture, but also to humanity; Julie Eizenberg’s vision for an evolving profession; and Steve Dumez’s philosophy of a citizen architect as a foundation for crafting impactful design.
